About The Next Swell

Our Board of Directors

The Next Swell was founded in 2020 by a group of people passionate about preserving our marine environments.

They were concerned that the rising costs of higher education were preventing the best and brightest future marine conservationists from achieving the educational milestones required to break into the marine science workforce.

Each Director within The Next Swell board brings their experience and passion from within and from outside of the marine sciences workforce, volunteering their time and efforts to further these shared goals.

Envisioning a tailored program to help offset the initial cost of education, The Next Swell Scholarship was created and, since 2021, has been providing funds directly to students seeking degrees within the marine sciences.
